Sunday Soak - Lush Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar

I don't really know what the etiquette is about reviewing seasonal products that aren't currently available, but since I have a whole bunch of Christmassy bath stuff left (and more on the way thanks the the Lush boxing day sale, woo!) then I'm doing some anyway!

Besides, I tell myself, this way if these items are released again next year then early reviews may come in handy!

Cute bath products

The Lush Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar is, as you might have imagined, part of Lush's Christmas range. It's been a while since I picked up one of the bubble bars from the store, as I do tend to prefer the big crazy bath bombs, but this little guy was so sweet I just couldn't resist him! One of the nice things about the Lush products being hand made is that they are all slightly different which is fun when picking which one out of the store's selection you want to bring home - all the little penguins seemed to have their own personality and mine looked endearingly confused.

The good thing about the Lush Bubble Bars is you can get more than one use of them, I usually go for three but could equally work for two very generous baths or four slightly more stingy ones! With this one though, since I didn't have a knife or anything handy I just tried to break it up by hand... which meant I ended up with one whole blue bit instead of a couple of equally tinted parts. No problem here, all of it had the same fresh citrus-y scent, but it meant that after my first pretty pale blue bath....

...I'd used up all the coloured bits so my next couple were pretty plain colour-wise, still plenty of nice bubbles though!

Since it's not currently available I can't actually tell you what this cost - I imagine around the £3 mark, and if he does pop back up again next Christmas I'll be happy to see him again!

  2. I don't have a local LUSH shop, so I'm quite meticulous about breaking their bath delights into a number of bits.. for maximum enjoyment, but they're always so good. Your penguin was adorable.. and how fun was that initial blue soak?!

    1. I do love a nicely coloured bath - always makes me smile! The bubble bars are the only one I've tried splitting so far but might experiment a bit more :)

  3. He does look rather baffled, poor Mr Penguin! These always sound so lovely, damn Lush for putting SLS in them :(
I like your reasoning of reviewing early ;D
