The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag

One of most favouritest ever bloggers Daniella at Famous In Japan created this fab little tag and I had to do it because blogging has made me buy sooooo much! I used to be such a careful little spender and now I have more bath stuff and make up than you can shake a stick at - and it's all your fault!

Before I crack on, have a peek at Daniella's cute little picture that demonstrates the vastness of my collection and and the emptiness of my bank account - and you can see the original post about it here.

blogger tags

1) Who are your most influential bloggers?  Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

Hayley and Sandra make me want to buy beauty things. Char makes me want to buy shoes and dresses. Steph makes me want to buy nail polish and tea. I buy everything Michelle tells me to.

2) Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

It really depends on the cost I think, if it's just one thing for a couple of quid I'm more likely to pick it up just one one recommendation, if it's more of a financial investment I might do a bit more research.

3) What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

So many to choose from! the one that springs to mind though are the Etude House Ice Cream nail polishes I originally saw in this post of Terri's

4) What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

When the Rimmel Apocalips first came out and were everywhere I bought one and we just didn't get on. I'm sure I just made an error in shade selection as it really didn't do anything for me! I can't even tell you which shade it was as I put it on once, took it straight off and haven't looked at it since!

5) Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.

This might not have all been very recently as I've been trying to avoid as much me-shopping on the run up to Christmas, but a few that come to mind are: EOS lip balms, Lush's Snow Fairy shower gel, Benefit's They're Real mascara, Korres Lip Butters and the Sleek Vintage Romance Palette... as well as anything with cats, foxes or pandas on.

6) Have you ever given into blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

Several times, though I think my experience with Apocalips outlined above is one of the few times I've regretted it.

7) Have you ever avoided blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

I think I have a monetary cut off, anything over a certain amount will instantly be ignored by my brain - so I've managed to easily avoid too much trauma over any of the Urban Decay palettes, Neom candles, or pretty much anything by MAC.

8) Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

Not so long ago I bought one of the Barry M textured sequin effect nail polish thingies. I hadn't read any reviews and I just thought it looked nice. It was the worst thing I've ever put on my nails, by a country mile. Afterwards I checked a bunch of reviews and they all said it was awful. I'm determined to learn my lesson and read before buying in future.... that'll last til I see something pretty I haven't heard anything about and can't help myself!

So before I head out shopping for the day (I jest!), there's time enough to tag Hayley, Michelle, Simone, Sharon and Sammie to confess their blogger-encouraged sins!

  7. Haha this tag is brilliant! It's true there are so many things you buy because of other bloggers.
