Oaks Boutique - Blogger Event

One evening last week I had the opportunity to pop over to Leeds and expand my fashion horizons by getting to have a good look round the Oaks Boutique in Roundhay.

Roundhay clothes shops

The lovely ladies at Oaks had put on a lovely little event to introduce local bloggers to some of their fantastic fashion lines.

As the little ones are not overly keen on shopping I tend to do a lot of my clothes shopping online or big easily accessible places line supermarkets, so it was so nice to be able to really spend some quality time fully appreciating the goods on display in such a friendly and intimate boutique - it's not a shopping environment I get to experience often but it sure is a good one!

There was plenty to see too, especially for the size of the store - the Oaks folk had really utilized their space well. Clothes were tended to be grouped by colour scheme, so you had one rack of lovely soft pastels, one of edgy black etc - a good starting off point if you are looking for something in particular as well as a natural organisation for a more casual browse!

A range of rather stunning bags, shoes and accessories rounded out the clothing selection, making it easy work to pick out a whole outfit here!

One of my particular favourites on the night was this very lovely frock I was unceremoniously bullied into trying on by Yuna. My rather rubbish mirror picture doesn't really capture what a gorgeous item this is, beautiful silky ribbons and oodles of fancy netting make for a gloriously whimsical overall effect. Unfortunately it was not to be mine on the night but I haven't forgotten about it!

Oaks had in fact challenged us to post about our favourite three items in store, and here's another couple of mine:

I didn't realise 'til I got home that I never actually took a photo of these boots so I hope the Oaks lot don't mine me stealing it off their facebook page! These are right up my street - soft where you want them to be soft and sturdy where they should be sturdy, and such a lovely colour!

I was also a bit fan of the pretty heart print dress - in fact, I'm pretty sure I have something similar already but if anything that just shows that I really like it!

Another favourite thing on the night was of course the incredible cakes that the ladies provided for us - these things were HUGE and completely delicious (as modelled below by the lovely Simone).

I had such a lovely night, seeing some familiar faces and getting to know some new ones as well as hearing all about the brand and everything they have to offer. After a couple of hours browsing and chatting we were sent on out way filled with warm feelings and buttercream, and carrying very generous goody bags. Thanks very much to Oaks Boutique for having us over!

Oaks aren't currently selling online but you can keep up with their web-based shenanigans on their website www.oaksboutique.com, where you can also find details of their five boutiques - definitely worth a visit if there is one local to you! You can say Hi to them on twitter too, right here

Do you reckon I should go back for my dress?
