New Body Shop Colour Crush Shine Lipsticks

It seems we are officially in Spring, even if the foggy view from my window doesn't look like it, so it's about time for a little seasonal lipstick update! Though, like many I do prefer a nice dark berry lip for the colder months, I fancy celebrating the oncoming sunshine with something a bit brighter and sunnier - and these new Colour Crush Shine Lipsticks from The Body Shop are just the thing!

body shop make up recommendations

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure the first make up I ever really used came from The Body Shop. I got a bunch of stuff as a birthday present from my then-boyfriends mum (was she trying to tell me something?). There were a couple of 'interesting' colour choices and I don't think it'd be anything I'd wear now, but it was the mid-nineties when many fashion and make up mistakes were made so I can't hold it against The Body Shop! And these new offerings look turned out a lot more face-friendly (not to say I won't look back on these in 20 years with trepidation).

Anyway, I digress (as usual!) - what we have here are three brand new and exciting lip shades perfect for Spring and Summer. The Colour Crush Shine Lipsticks are coated with cherry seed oil and marula oil to give a super shiny finish as well as a strong bright colour.

In the bullet, Magenta Be Rouge was the least appealing to me as I've not always got on very well with bright pinks but I actually really like this one on.

Sunset Romance Make up

Sunset Romance is my favourite of the three -  such a lovely warm shade, I can see this being my lipstick staple over the next few months!

Finally we have Fuchsia Flirt, another bright girly pink! Sorry for all the pics of my face by the way, but I can't handle pictures of my disembodied lips, everything looks weirder out of context!

I really like the nice slick formula of these - applied smooth as butter with no drag or stickiness. They didn't have the greatest staying power in the world put stay put for a couple of hours (bearing in mind how much lipstick-melting tea I'd normally have in that time, not bad at all!), but when they fade they seem to do it evenly so you aren't left all patchy or with weird lines!

These lovely little things will be available from 15th April for £10 each (but shhhhh! There's nearly always discounts and deals to be had online!) Do you have a favourite? Have you tried any of the other Body Shop makeup?

  1. These look pretty. I don't wear lipstick too often, but these look like they'd feel nice on the lips & the colours are wearable too

  4. Such pretty colours :) I used to love the little dolphin bath oil things from 90s Body Shop. Think I may have to get one of the shades on my next order.
