Oriflame The One Event, Leeds

I'd been looking forward to the Oriflame event in Leeds for ages so when I found myself suffering from a wee bit of a cold on the weekend of the event, I certainly wasn't going to let that stop me going. However, it may have stopped me being able to put together a blog post that is in anyway coherent and useful.

Obviously the cupcakes caught my attention on the way in to the gorgeous event room at The Living Rooms in Leeds, and even managed to snap a picture of the most impressive 'make up bag' I've ever seen...

But it appears that once I took my seat my attention started to wander - and it wasn't 'til last night I realised how out of it I was, as it appears I took more photographs capturing the texture of the nearby couch, rather than what was going on around me. I don't actually really recall doing this - it's interesting what a lack of sleep, high temperature and cold medication will tell your brain makes for an interesting photography subject.

In case it's not been clear enough, my waving concentration levels were in NO WAY attributable to our wonderful, passionate and talented host for the afternoon, celebrity make up artist Gary Cockerill - who performed the most amazing transformations on Yuna's lips, Ellie's eyelashes and Steph's eyes.

Nor was my inability to take anything in related to any lack of interest in the products - I'd been lucky enough to try one of the Oriflame mascaras in the past and loved it, so I was really looking forward to learning about their new range 'The One' and how that differed from the previous products, as well as a bit more about the company in general as they do seem to be a bit of an intriguing enigma rather than a well-known household name on these shores.
I did tell you this wouldn't be a particularly helpful post! But in the spirit of being a bit more helpful, thankfully lots of the other ladies in attendance on the day who have put together much more sensible and information filled posts, and I suggest you read Daniella's post, or Simone's, or Kellie's, to actually find out a bit more info about the event, the brand and the products!

oriflame event goody bag

Luckily for me, the lovely Oriflame bunch provided us with some very generous and lovely goody bags, so I can actually take some time to test things out when I'm fully recovered and able to use my brain again! First impressions are great, and I promise you a much more useful and informative blog post on these in the near future!

  1. Aww, poor you! We've all had days like that, but they do suck. Glad you're enjoying your goodies though :)
