Memebox Global #13

I love Memebox delivery day, and the global boxes are some of the most exciting to open as there's no clues whatsoever as to what will be found inside!

Here's what I got in this one, Memebox Global Box #13:

korean beauty sub box

23years old CX Detoxifying Air Therapy ($50) - how creepy looking is this? It reminds me of the Almodóvar film The Skin I Live In! You put the stuff on your face and then mask sheet over the top - it's made from carbonated water so it bubbles away on your skin giving it a deep clean. It's an interesting sounding thing for sure and I've enjoyed 'bubbly' Korean products before so looking forward to using this! The suggested value of this is pretty bananas though, but more on that in a mo!

Donga Tempo Eco Natural ($11) - Yeah, so I got tampons in my beauty box. Can honestly say it's the first time! My biggest concern here though is not that they were included, but the suggested retail value of $11. $11? For three? It's either another great reason to be happy I'm not a Korean woman on her period (the 'stench-shaming' in the last box being the first!) or Memebox are making prices up as they go along...  Hmmm..... moving on...

sanitary products in beauty box

CNP Cosmetics Derma Scalp Shampoo - I've actually never yet used any of the shampoo products I've received in memeboxes - I have this weird thing about needing to use matching conditioners (it can't just be me!) so haven't made them a priority but I definitely think I'll be giving this a go! I've got a lot of hair and it gets pretty warm under there, especially in the summer, so this cooling and refreshing shampoo might just be the thing to sooth my scalp!

CNP Cosmetics Tone-Up Protection Sun - I'm always grateful for a decent strong sun cream I can use on my face, as the green spray-on factor 50 I bought for the kids that I usually use is a great sun barrier but makes my face ultra slick and shiny (and stings like heck if I rub it into my eyes  . . . which I somehow always do) - hope the sun comes back out so I can test it out!

Yufit Eon Wheat-Germ Cream ($48) - I've not had a proper try of the wheat germ moisturiser as yet, as I've got others on the go to use up first, but I have just now tried a little on the back of my hand and its a nice thick cream that seems to moisturise well.

Soy Bio Plus Fermented Lumpoule - 'Lumpoule'? I kinda love the word but I'm not sure it makes me want to put this on my face - I want to avoid lumps! Apparently the name is made by combining 'ampoule' (something again that I don't really understand but know its something that crops up a lot in Korean skincare!) and 'lump', as this is made from soy bean lump. It should prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles - always good!

Nuganic Sun Base Colour Control Cream ($54) - I've not tried this in the daylight yet so can't say how it looks colour-wise but I was ever so tickled when I realised this tube came with a pump, the first time I've seen such a thing (and I'm easily entertained). It feels comfortable on the skin and has a SPF of 50 which is grand, even if it does slightly negate the need for the sun lotion a bit further up!

So all in all a very decent box with some fun things in. It has raised questions with me about the suggested value of the products on the accompanying card (where I have no idea how to price say a cleanser by a brand I've never heard of, knowing how much they can differ in cost, I'm pretty sure at $11 for 3 tampons is bonkers, and it has made me question some of the other price guides in a way I wouldn't have before). However, I suppose how good something is, how much you like or or will use it, are all more important than the suggested retail cost and on that count I'm still pretty happy!

(BTW I haven't included the prices for the sample sizes as the prices I was provided with were for the full sized products and didn't want to confuse matters further!)

At the minute you can by a Memebox Global bundle of boxes 17, 18 and 19 (that' Novembers, Decembers and January's - they're all sold out up until then!) here which will not only save on shipping costs but on annoyance when one sells out before you've hand chance to buy it and you have to live with letting it slip through your fingers!

If you don't want to wait 'til November to get your hands on memegoodies, it's now much easier to see which of their boxes are 'ready to ship' to keep your waiting time to a minimum!

  2. I would love to know what the thought process was that led to them putting in tampons, and thinking that was a good idea.
