Memebox - Cafe Box

Two things I love are - boxes of cute Korean cosmetics, and cafes. So it of course made perfect sense that when Memebox released a 'Cafe' theme box I should snap one up straight away! The much awaited box arrived last week and here's what I found inside!

coffee themed beauty items

Vella Fresh Creamy Soap ($13) - So I haven't worked out exactly how this fits into a Café themed box I'll admit, but it looks like a pretty nice product nonetheless. The instructions on the card say to lather up the product in your hands then 'without getting your palms to touch the skin gently massage just the bubbles onto your face'. It seems weird to be able to wash my face without touching it and I'll be honest, I haven't managed this yet! I'm getting closer to being able to do it though, I think you have to get the soap and water ration just right but I think I've been using too much of the product to get the right amount of bubbles, less is definitely more with this! I'll keep you updated with how I get on if I get it cracked!

Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub ($13) - I'm always happy to see Tony Moly products crop up in these boxes as I generally find they're as good as they are cute (which is plenty!) This facial scrub is only really meant to be used a maximum of twice a week so I've only had one go with it so far but I think it was love at first sniff! It smells just like coffee, so I'm hoping the psychological effects of using it will wake me up in the morning, as well as leaving my skin super soft!

Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm ($6) - Well just look at it, it's adorable! I got the 'peach cupcake' variety, while others got strawberry or plum. It smells beautiful and feels nice and moisturising, a lot nicer than similar 'novelty' products that seem to pop up around Christmas!

Cleomee Anti-Wrinkle Donkey Lotion ($83) - By far and away the highest valued product in the box (though there is some speculation about the reliability of Memebox's value suggestions!), I have high hopes for this donkey-milk body lotion! Apparently donkey milk was the secret to Cleopatra's beauty and I can do with all the help I can get! I've had donkey milk based products in Memeboxes before and really liked them, and this smells good so it's off to a good start!

Pure Smile Green Tea Mask Sheet ($1) - Usually the sheet masks that pop up in these boxes are the last things I get to - I normally have a play with everything else an chuck these in the stash with the others. But not this time, oh no! This was actually the first product I tried in the box! It felt really wet and cold going on, but soon felt a little more comfortable on (though looked creepy as all heck, as sheet masks do tend to). This version of the mask (other boxes came with a 'herb extract' one) contains green tea extracts for maintaining the skins moisture/oil balance. My skin did feel pretty nice when it came off!

Binu Cook Ice Cream Scoop Cacao Body Soap ($3) - Ice cream soap! How cute! I'll admit chocolate is about my least favourite flavour of ice cream this still smells amazing, and the kids love it. Little madam has claimed this as her own so she can be clean and sparkling and chocolatey.

Overall I was definitely happy with this box - everything in here will get used (by me or by someone else in the house!) which is all you can really ask for, and the fact some of these things are cute as a button is a nice bonus! The whole thing cost $23 + postage which would work out at around £17 That's without discount codes or points, which there are usually plenty of floating about, so you can save a few quid - I still think they're among the best value beauty boxes available, as well as the most fun!

The Memebox Cafe Box isn't currently available but there's tonnes more themed boxes on the site to choose from, like the Green Food Cosmetics Box, Pumpkin Pie Cosmetics or The Empress's Secrets. And if anything does tickle your fancy, you can use the code 7ZCP for $5 off!
